It’s hard to believe that it has been ten years since the seminal album Futures was released by Jimmy Eat World. Let that sink in for just a minute. Ten years have passed since the song “Pain” was first played on the radio. Ten years have passed and I am not twenty seven years old. I am sitting here writing a blog post about how Futures is now ten years old where as ten years ago I would have not done this quite simply because I lacked an internet connection.
Futures is my second favorite JEW record behind Bleed American but in it’s own right it is a fantastic record that deserves more credit than it probably gets. I was too young and jaded to really care what the critics say, I still am but I still look at that stuff.
JEW announced a huge tour in honor of their record turning ten. The band will not be hitting the city of Brotherly Love on this tour as they will be hitting the city on a separate tour a month before but if you want to catch this awesome show you will have to hit up the Sherman Theater.
