Some New LPs Are Coming Your Way

It would appear that several bands are currently in the studio working on follow up records to their last records. Some have names and release dates while others are just starting out in the studio. Midwest pop-punk group Motion City Soundtrack is currently in the studio working on the follow up to 2012’s Go which has no name and the band has been in the studio for just under a week. For updates on that be sure to follow the band as well as lead singer Justin Pierre on Twitter.

Florence Welch announced recently that she was in the recording studio for what feels like twenty four hours in a day which we all know is impossible. She made a rare appearance when she announced this. This could only mean that a new record is in the works, so far there is little information but as more information becomes available we will keep you posted.

Alternative rockers Alt-J is working on the follow up to their debut 2012 record An Awesome Wave.  The album is entitled This Is All Yours and will be released on September 22nd. The British band will be playing in Philadelphia at the Tower Theater in November.

The final album is the latest LP from rock icons Weezer. Weezer holds a very special place in my heart simply because I grew up listening to them. In my mind they have three amazing albums and a really good one and then a good one and the rest is quite below average. Yes Blue, Green, and Pinkerton are their best. Maladroit is pretty good. Make Believe is actually good but the rest….eh Red, Hurley and anything else they have put out that I can’t think of turn me off immensely. Their latest LP is appropriately titled Everything Will Be Alright In The End. No date is set yet.
